How the app stores and shares data.
This page describes the app’s data flows and the website’s services to help you evaluate them. Features depend on your accounts, permissions and settings.
The app keeps a local copy of data and pending changes in SQLite. Downloaded submission files stay on the device where they were fetched. When synchronisation is used, selected teacher-owned records and verified Classroom and Studybee observations can be shared between authorised devices through the app’s Sync API. Local storage does not mean all information always stays on one computer.
Google Classroom and Google Drive use your signed-in account and the access you authorise. Studybee and SchoolSoft require their own accounts and permissions. Enabled publication sends feedback or assessments to the relevant service. SchoolSoft is used for timetables and attendance. Check settings before publishing student information.
Dictation converts teacher speech into text using a local speech engine. First use may require a component download. Microphone access is needed for recording. Publishing the resulting text to a school service is a separate data flow.
The website uses Google Analytics and an embedded YouTube video. Clicking a download link sends an event containing the operating system, website language and the website page containing the link to the existing analytics function. A click does not prove installation. Student names, student work and app content are not included in this event. Google and YouTube also handle data under their own service terms.
